Canyonlands to Colorado

Okay, so, we just left Canyonlands and Utah as a whole. It was an interesting experience being in the desert.

At first glance it was easy to take a look at the landscape and not quite get it... it felt so dry and lifeless that sometimes all you could think about was escaping somewhere else with big expansive trees and alpine lakes for swimming.

Then we went exploring....

and with every step we took deeper into the desert...

you start too see the most amazing and remarkable colors...

contrast...

architecture...

art...

and life!

My favorite part?

Being in a region that seems so dry and desolate from the outside, you 'll never appreciate this life more.

(As a disclaimer, these pictures are from the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park)

Oh ya, we went to Arches too... it was OK.

Also, we're becoming pretty good at the whole dutch oven thing. Check out these amazing looking enchiladas! They tasted as good as they look.

Time for Colorado!

  2. Love it! Desert blossoms--amazing! I'd have to say the sculpture really grabs me. Onward, oh zealous adventurers!
